SGB College Chinese Women Basketball Tournament Participation Eligibility

Welcome to the SGB College Chinese Women Basketball Tournament. In the following sections, we delineate the criteria and requirements essential for participation, aimed at ensuring a fair, competitive, and inclusive environment for all teams and players.

Team Participation Requirements:

Teams must represent a school, with each school allowed only one representative team. Each player can only represent one team (one school) in the competition.

Team Member Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 players per team is required.

  • Currently, there is no upper limit set for the number of players or alumni per team. We want to encourage teams to recruit eligible players as much as possible.

Player Eligibility Requirements:

  • The SGB College Chinese Women Basketball Tournament is exclusively open to players of Chinese heritage, with the following eligibility criteria:

    • The tournament is open to all direct descendants of Chinese heritage.

    • Players must have at least 25% Chinese heritage (at least one grandparent must be 100% Chinese).

    • Players with questions about their eligibility should contact us before the competition.

    • The tournament relies on the self-certification of players and their teams, with no pre-competition verification by SGB. However, if other teams or players raise doubts, the player in question must cooperate with SGB for eligibility verification. If found ineligible, the team's results in the tournament will be annulled, and SGB reserves the right to impose additional bans on the player and their team. Teams or players refusing to cooperate with investigations will be treated as having falsified their eligibility.

  • Player Status Requirements:

    • ​Current Students, transfer students, or exchange students in a Degree-Seeking Program.

    • Alumni of a Degree-Seeking Program.

    • Current university employee with a Permanent full-time position.

    • Former university employee who have held a Permanent position.

  • Required Documentation and Submission Deadlines:

    • Students/ transfer students/ exchange students must present the following before the start of the competition day: student photo ID, the first page of I-20, and passport visa page (not required for U.S. citizens).

    • Alumni should present their diploma, degree certificate, and a legal Photo ID.

    • Current/ former university employee must submit their employee photo ID and offer letter via email (info@shegotbuckets.org) for verification before the competition. Approval is required to qualify for participation.

Notes:

  1. Players unsure about their eligibility should contact us in time for confirmation to avoid being unable to participate on the day of the competition.

  2. Students from non-degree programs such as summer school and non-Permanent position staff like short-term interns are not eligible to compete in this collegiate tournament.

  3. The organizers place great importance on the privacy and protection of personal information of the participants: all submitted identity documents will be properly managed and protected.

  4. When a player meets multiple requirements, they can choose to represent one team, and cannot represent multiple schools within the same academic year (season).

  5. No wildcard teams will be allowed in the collegiate competition.

  6. Reserve team players should rank outside the top 7 main players of the team.

  7. In case of disputes, She Got Buckets reserves the final interpretation right of the competition rules.

参赛球队要求：

参赛球队需以学校为单位，每个学校只能有且只有一支代表球队（一队），每名球员也只能代表一支球队（一个学校）参赛。

参赛球队人数要求：

  • 每队参赛人数不得少于5人

  • 鉴于女篮赛事处于发展阶段，目前暂不对每队人数以及毕业生人数设置上限，鼓励各球队尽可能努力招募符合条件的球员参赛

参赛球员要求：

  • SGB华裔高校赛仅限华裔球员参赛，资格要求如下：

    • SGB华人高校赛对所有直系华裔球员开放。

    • 参赛球员必须至少有25%的华裔血统（至少一个祖父母必须是100%的华裔）。

    • 参赛球员如对自己的参赛资格有疑问，请于赛前及时联系我们。

    • 原则上以参赛球员及其球队自我认证为主，SGB不做赛前验证。但如有其他球队、球员提出质疑，该球员需配合SGB进行资格验证，如若验证为假，将取消该队在当届比赛的成绩，并保留对球员及其球队追加禁赛处罚的权利。如球队或球员拒绝配合调查，将按验证为假处理。

  • 参赛球员必须属于下列情况之一：

    • Degree-Seeking Program 的在校学生、转校生、交换生

    • Degree-Seeking Program 的毕业生

    • 有Permanent全职职位的在校职工

    • 曾有过Permanent 职位的前职工

  • 参赛球员需出示的证明文件及提交时间：

    • 在校学生/转校生/交换生/毕业生（情况1，2）请在比赛当天开始前出示

      • 学生Photo ID，I-20 第一页及护照签证面 （美国公民无须提供I-20或签证）

      • 毕业生可出示毕业证、学位证以及合法 Photo ID 参赛

    • 在校职工/前职工（情况3，4）请在比赛前以邮件的方式提交材料进行审核

      • 职工 Photo ID 以及 Offer Letter，请尽早发送到邮箱：info@shegotbuckets.org

      • 审核通过方可获得参赛资格

Notes:

  1. 若球员对于参赛身份有疑惑，请及时联系我们，以便提前进行确认以避免比赛当天无法参赛的情况

  2. 暑校等 non-degree program 的学生不符合本次高校联赛的参赛资格

  3. 短期实习生等非 Permanent 职位的职工不符合本次高校联赛的参赛资格

  4. 主办方极其重视参赛球员的隐私和个人信息保护：所有提交的身份证明文件会被妥善管理和保护

  5. 当某位球员满足上述多个要求时，球员可选择其中一支球队参赛，且该学年（赛季）内不得代表多个学校参赛

  6. 高校赛事不设置外卡球队

  7. 二队参赛队员应当排在球队的前7名主力球员之外

  8. 如遇到争议，She Got Buckets对赛事规则拥有最终解释权
